This Autumn/Winter 11 sees the third menswear collection by Toast. The range has achieved considerable success and is now available in five of Toast’s UK shops as well as online. Toast has seen the male customer base grow and return each season for the quality fabrics and considered details that Toast is so well known for.
Tailoring for winter is a strong look where British woven herringbone tweed produced from Shetland wool is used in the Toast suit. Comprising of trousers, waistcoat, jacket and overcoat, these pieces can be worn together or separately for a more deconstructed look. Other British produced items include the Cavalry twill trousers where the cloth was spun, woven and finished in a single Yorkshire mill.

The latest menwsear collection by Toast is inspired by the ‘gentlemen & players games’ from the late 19th century where amateurs (the gentlemen) and professionals (the players) would partake in cricket matches, the men’s ss11 collection from toast is quintessentially english.
The colouring of the collection echoes those same shades from the English cricket match – off whites, neutrals and cool blues. there is also a collection of traditional breton striped tops which, in order to maintain an authentic look, are still made by the original company set up in France in the late 19th century.
Fabrics are tougher and more utilitarian in feel, including selvedge denim, linen and sturdy knitted cottons. key pieces include a double breasted canvas jacket which is garment dyed – giving a slightly uneven and wornin look. other focal pieces include the easy linen shorts and relaxed shirts.
